Our mission is to promote personal wellness and transitional guidance for individuals with differing abilities and circumstances. We accomplish this through adaptive sport, inclusion, mentorship, educational and transitional guidance, and by providing, where needed, adaptive programming, equipment, and teaching techniques.
We specialize and work mainly with amputee youths , their families, ages 4 – 17 and young adults.
Houston Adaptive Standing Tennis
Based out of Houston Texas and formed in 2014, we teach the sport of tennis to individuals who have a physical disability and wish to play Standing instead of using a wheelchair. Our goal is to not only make you a better tennis player but to help instill personal confidence and fellowship along the way.
Under head coach and mentor Jeff Bourns our team also consists of Preston Pinto, PTR tennis Professional and Christina Hayden, recreational therapist for Shriners Hospital for Children Houston.
